Susanne Boerner's clay figures have wit and charm. Women and men who cunningly look at us with all their strengths and weaknesses exposed, the figures often caricature -humanity but always with a wink. From fine, frost-resistant Westerwald clay burned at about 1,250 degrees. They are made in a centuries-old clay and ceramic workshop in the middle of the Westerwald. There they are modelled and hand-painted to give each piece their own character - inspired by the idea that beautiful items are created with love.
