Born in Bristol, Sarah creates art in her studio situated on the borders of woodland, drawing inspiration from nature and wildlife combined with the human experience. In my ‘Spirit Animal’ series of work I have been painting portraits of animals flaunting tattoos or accessories. I like to present these animals in a way that people feel they could relate to them. Each of the animals exhibits human characteristics through their tattoos, headdress or accessories. These characteristics can relate to our human experience, however, in this context they also playfully explore our relationship with such creatures.
