SARAH RICKARD

  

Sarah studied Ceramics and Textiles at the Crewe and Alsager faculty of the Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated in 1996. Since then she's worked as a self-employed artist and ceramicist supplying galleries around the country and abroad. She now has two children and fits her creative pursuits around them. Sarah is inspired by the beauty of nature and fascinated by myth and folklore.
Working mainly in white earthenware she slab builds her pieces, decorating them with underglazes and oxides followed by a clear glaze. Sarah has recently started using transfers on her work which are created from her original drawings and paintings.
