Clare Cutts was born in Louth, Lincolnshire on April 13th 1968. Clare completed a Fine Art Foundation Course at Bristol School of Art in 2004. Clare has been working as a Printmaker since 2008 designing from a room in her home and printing at Spike Print Studio. “People seem really drawn to the 3D effect and the emotion within my work.” The images originate from an emotion inspired by a piece of writing, poetry, song or as an immediate response to the natural world.
The woodcuts came about because they are used as a basis for my large tree prints.
I used the woodcuts to emboss my tree prints before printing them.
Showing my process at a recent exhibition the wood prints were so successful I have started selling them as pieces in their own right.
